The Mantids
Tall, slender, insectile beings resembling an upright praying mantis — elongated limbs, a triangular head, and enormous wraparound eyes that seem to hold genuine, ancient intelligence.
Buried in thousands of abduction accounts is a recurring figure the witnesses never expected and rarely wanted: a being like a giant praying mantis, standing apart from the procedure, watching. Where the Greys provoke fear, the Mantids provoke something stranger — awe.
Experiencers describe locking eyes with a Mantid and feeling decades of their life reviewed in an instant, accompanied not by judgement but by an almost unbearable tenderness. They are consistently positioned as the authority in the room: the Greys defer to them.
Some researchers propose the Mantids are not extraterrestrial at all but extra-dimensional — an intelligence that evolved insectile because the eusocial insect is the most efficient template the universe offers for a hive of perfect, selfless cooperation.
“It looked at me the way a person looks at a photograph of someone they have already lost.”

The Agenda
Oversight. Witnesses repeatedly describe Mantids supervising the Greys' work — as though they are the surgeons, and the Greys the orderlies. Their interest seems spiritual as much as biological.
