The Tall Whites
Chalk-white, almost translucent skin, oversized blue eyes, fine pale hair, and a remarkably long lifespan. Adults can tower over two meters; their eyes are large and catlike, sensitive to light.
The Tall Whites owe their place in the canon almost entirely to one man: Charles Hall, a former U.S. Air Force weather observer who claimed that in the 1960s he routinely encountered pale, towering beings while stationed in the Nevada desert near Nellis Air Force Base.
What makes Hall's account distinctive is its mundanity. He described no cosmic philosophy and no genetic agenda — just a proud, irritable, long-lived people who used the remote ranges as a logistical way-station and tolerated the humans around them with the wary patience of a traveler dealing with locals. They could be charming; they could be lethal if disrespected.
The Tall Whites are a useful counterpoint in the catalogue. Not every reported visitor is a savior or a harvester. Some, if the accounts hold any truth, are simply passing through — and would prefer we kept our distance.
